Grayshott Folk Club’s Upcoming Gigs

Friday 19th June 2015 @ 7.30pm

Grayshott Village Hall, Headley Road, GRAYSHOTT, Nr. Hindhead, Surrey GU26 6TZ

If it’s a quiet Friday night out you are looking for, then maybe you should avoid Grayshott Village Hall tonight? BBTP are York’s answer to The Pogues and they have become big Festival favourites. A Folk/Rock six piece, they are known for their playful arrangements, their lively interpretations of traditional and contemporary Folk songs and tunes and the driving dance rhythms that they add to give them a rock edge. In 2014, they were voted the best band at Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Festival and they also went down a storm at Glastonbury, Shrewsbury and the World Music Festival in Borneo, last year.

BBTP are currently one of the most in-demand bands in the Folk world.

Grayshott Village Hall, Headley Road, GRAYSHOTT, Nr. Hindhead, Surrey GU26 6TZ

We finish our 2014/2015 season on a real high with some talented, funny, award-winning

(BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award 2013 and Horizon Award 2014, nominated for Best Duo 2015), young musicians, who have set the Folk world alight over the past few years. With such a busy schedule, we are fortunate that they have found time to stop by and play for us at Grayshott.

Their thrilling performances and releases have set the standard for young Folk musicians everywhere. Ciaran is one of the most exciting young fiddle players you will ever see – with a quirky wit to match – and Greg is one of the most appealing singers and guitarists. Their mix of traditional and modern Folk songs along with their own compositions, make them one of the most sought-after duos around.

Support: Kelly OliverKelly is a passionate singer/guitarist/songwriter who has travelled widely and who has already packed a great deal into her short life. She comes from Hertfordshire and has recorded a session for Bob Harris’s “Under The Apple Tree” series, which you can watch here:
