Singer songwriter and former front man of Saturday Sun, Alex Hedley has released a new single to coincide with a London show at The Troubadour.
‘One Day’, the follow up to the recent ‘Shadow Lake’ track, is the third release from his debut EP on Cyber Nomad Records and is accompanied by a truly innovative animated video by New York film maker Jeff Scher.
The ‘Shadow Lake’ EP was recorded over a frozen Winter in Dorset and Scotland and then mixed by John Cornfield and mastered by John Davis at Metropolis Studios in London.
The four track EP is available to download and includes two previously released singles plus ‘No Purity’ and the new single ‘One Day’. Although glorious and uplifting, the recording of these skewed acoustic pop tunes was done during a somewhat fraught time for Hedley. However, after an isolated and inspiring break in The Highlands, he soon returned to his former self and the results are stunning.
- ‘WHAT IT IS’
- ‘SHADOW LAKE’
- ‘ONE DAY’
- ‘NO PURITY’
Emerging over the last year from the acclaimed four-piece Saturday Sun who’s ‘Seagull’ single has had over seven million plays on Spotify, Alex Hedley has spent his time since crafting a stunning set of evocative songs that recall the likes of John Martyn. He himself cites the like of Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and early Pink Floyd as influences, but Hedley has now more than confirmed his early promise as a truly unique artist in his own right for the present and beyond.
Alex has already played a number of shows over the Summer and more dates will be announced very soon.
