Feast of Fiddles – 19th annual tour

Feast of Fiddles – 19th annual tour

Spring Tour: April 2-15

“They look like geography teachers; they play like angels!”

“The best fiddle players of a generation” – fRoots

“Absolutely awesome!” – Sue Marchant, BBC East

Feast of Fiddles

The sextet of fabulous fiddlers and their backline include some of the most legendary names in folk: Peter Knight (Steeleye Span), Chris Leslie (Fairport Convention), Brian McNeill (ex Battlefield Band), Ian Cutler (Bully Wee, Hot Rats), Tom Leary (Tanna, Albion Morris) and Garry Blakeley (Band of Two) aided and abetted by iconic folk-rock drummer Dave Mattacks; Martin Vincent and John Underwood (guitars) and band founder, Hugh Crabtree (accordion).

Embarking on their 19th annual April tour, with shows across the Easter holiday, audiences should expect anything – from trad numbers to Deep Purple; Fairport standards to The Shadows and theme music from James Bond to the Magnificent Seven! The uplifting annual musical extravaganza that is the Feast of Fiddles tour began as a humble one-off for Oxfordshire’s Nettlebed Folk Club and has grown into a full-blooded two and a half hour life-affirming show with an appeal that has grown far beyond a folk audience. What the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain have done for the uke, Feast of Fiddles have undoubtedly done for the violin!
